Frequently asked questions

Who should go to counselling?

Anyone and everyone can come to counselling. Whether your concerns are big or small, or you aren’t even sure what the problem is, we can help you find clarity and balance. You do not need a referral from a doctor.

How can I setup an appointment?

The best way to schedule an appointment is to book online here. You can schedule a consultation, in-person and online appointments through the online booking system. You can also e-mail us at info@chromacounselling.ca  Alternatively, you can call us at 778-323-5797 or fill out the contact form here. We offer flexible appointment times in the evenings, late nights, weekends and online.

Where is your office located?

The office is conveniently located at 470 Granville St, Vancouver BC in Downtown Vancouver.

Can I attend the counselling sessions in-person?

Yes! We are fully open with daytime, evening and weekend hours. We follow the BCCDC COVID health guidelines. Online Zoom appointments are also available.

What is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)?

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) is a designation with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). RCCs are a group of professional counsellors that are accountable to the BCACC and adhere to the Code of Ethical Conduct and Standards of Clinical Practice. The Clinical Counsellor has met the rigorous academic training, clinical experience, and supervision requirements that are part of the criteria for Registered Membership.

How often will I come to counselling?

That depends on you. Every client is unique, and depending on your concerns, needs and goals, the number and frequency of sessions will vary.  For specific concerns, clients come for 6-10 weekly sessions, while more complex concerns will require a longer period. Most clients will start to feel better after their first session. Taking the first step toward self-improvement and knowing that you will have a safe, non-judgemental space to explore your concerns can be very comforting.

Can you help me with the BC Crime Victim Assistance Program?

As a registered service provider for the BC Ministry of Justice – Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), we can assist you in obtaining CVAP funding. Additionally, we can provide trauma counselling to people who experienced or witnessed a traumatic event or have been a victim of crime.

Do you accept clients from the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA)?

Yes! We support clients from the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). We provide direct billing to FNHA clients and can help you register for benefits if you have a status card. Please e-mail us to verify eligibility prior to booking an appointment.
